Manhasset has long been known for its strong schools and active music education community, which means a high concentration of family pianos used for lessons, practice, and recitals — often moved as kids grow, families relocate, or pianos are passed down.
Manhasset's housing stock leans heavily Tudor and Colonial Revival, styles known for charming but compact interior layouts — including narrow front halls, tight 90-degree stair turns, and living rooms with less square footage than their grand exteriors suggest. Fitting a piano through these spaces takes precise measuring and, often, removing a door or banister temporarily to create clearance.
Manhasset's walkable village streets are charming but narrow, with limited parking near many homes — meaning our crews often have to carry a piano further from the truck than in more spread-out areas. We're also mindful of scheduling around the school year, since many of our Manhasset moves are tied to a student's recital schedule or a family's move before the new school year begins.
